Pleasant Grove

[ community & school site ]Pleasant Grove was a community with a school and a church site. Pleasant Grove is west of Shady Grove and east of Hwy 19.

The Gilbert Donaldson family settled about four miles west of Shady Grove on a farm on the north bank of the Econfina River. The bridge across the Econfina at their place has all through the years been known as the Donaldson Bridge and was the most direct route to Perry for those living out in the Pleasant Grove section.

John Tedder was a farmer in the Pleasant Grove area first and later in Oakland area.

S. L. Walker's family moved to Taylor County and spent his early years on Fish Creek. Later he taught at Sand Hill, Stephensville, Carbur, Cabbage Grove and Pleasant Grove.
