Rockville
[ community & school site (July 5, 1908) ] Rockville School was about nine miles northeast of Perry on the Johnson-Stripling Road. It was constructed of logs. They didn't have a pump and depended on water from a nearby running branch. Rockville did not have a chimney. Mr. W. T. Cash once taught at Rockville School.
Warren Godwin lived in the Rockville community and was a cross tie cutter.
Carey Cruce was born at Lake Bird - in the Rockville School community.
The F. M. Cruce family lived on a farm between Lake Bird and Flat Creek - near the Rockville School site.
H. B. Cruce was one of the early settlers of Rockville community in Taylor County.
