1906 - 1931

In 1906 track was completed to Covington in northwestern Taylor County. Track from Covington to Waylonzo was completed on April 14, 1907. Grading was completed to Perry for a connection with the Suwannee & San Pedro Railway, and land was secured for terminal purpose. Track had been laid within 10 miles of Perry in1907 when work was abruptly brought to a halt. The track was taken up back to Waylonzo, but Covington became the southernmost terminal for the road. Only private log trains operated between Covington and Waylonzo. This segment was abandoned around 1920. In 1909 the Seaboard Air Line Railway acquired the line. The line was closed in 1931. Covington was a Turpentine and logging community.
