Pine Level

[ community & school site ] The old school house was just east of the Louie Houck house. The building was a church and the school was on the oposite side of the section in a low spot so the school house and the church building was swapped. Later Mr. Faulkner tore the school building down and built his house out of the lumber.

 

Andrew W. Hendry was a farmer in the Pine Level community.

 

Albert St Johns grew up in the Pine Level section of the county and attended Pine Level School.

 

W. R. Carlton was a farmer and he operated farms in three areas of the county during his career: Pine Level, Sand Hills and McMullen. Interspersed with his farming he did work for Potts Turpentine business.

 

The H. T. Gunter family was farmers and farmed in three different areas of the county: Athena, Pretty Pond and Pine Level.
