ATLANTIC COAST LINE RAILROAD
1914 - 1990
In 1914 the ACL Railroad opened a line from Dunellon to Perry, a distance of 108 miles. This line would serve the logging community of Carbur which started operations in 1914. In 1928 ACL opened a line from Monticello to Perry, a distance of 36 miles.
Passenger service was discontinued in 1957 and freight service was discontinued in 1990. The tracks were dismantled soon afterward and right-a-way sold.
