Some good news from my consultant yesterday, he had the results of the bone marrow extract taken at the beginning of this cycle. I am now in ’Complete Remission’ - that means the first two cycles of chemo did what they were supposed to do and killed all the cancer cells. I still need to complete cycles 3 and 4 just to make sure we kill any that did not appear in the sample taken.
While this is great news, there is still a 50% chance of it coming back over the next 5 years and if it does it will be more difficult to get rid of a second time. So the key thing is I’m in remission but I’m not cured.
Due to the slow internet speed for the first week I was in here I did not use as much of my mobile data allowance as I expected. If I did not use it by last night I would loose it so yesterday I watched quite a lot of things on the BBC iPlayer and had a skype call to Mum. Almost managed to use up the full data allowance. (For the technically minded out there I am using 7Gb a month, I’m on the three network because it is the only one that lets me make skype video calls. )
Isabel and James popped in for a bit yesterday, it was nice to see them.
…up to 8k yesterday on the exercise bike - must be all this talk of the Olympics that is giving me the motivation…
