I had quite a positive day yesterday the rash has not got any worse, a second consultant now thinks it could be the antibiotics that are causing it. Whatever it is it’s not painful so I don’t mind.
The consultant was not that worried about my swollen feet, no scans have happened. It was a good reason to spend the day in bed with my feet raised. The right foot is back to normal and the left foot is almost there, another day with my feet up is planned (it’s such a hard life in here)…
The good news is my taste buds are coming back to life, the bad news is I can now taste the hospital food. At lunch time I managed to eat some of the mushroom stroganoff with rice & peas, it was actually quite nice. I tried to be a bit daring in the evening macaroni cheese which would have been nice if there had actually been any macaroni or cheese in it… I won’t describe it, there may be people of a nervous disposition reading. My banana and yoghurt was very nice…
I received a unit of blood last night and getting a second one now, I think this is fairly standard at this stage of my treatment as my body has not restarted creating good blood after the chemo. I am also finishing the five day course of antibiotics - I have lost track of when it started - I assume there is only a day or two to run.
I have got a number of messages, emails and letters to respond to so I think that will keep me occupied for a good part of this morning.
…I have revised my target for the exercise bike, it is now to do 5k each day. Earlier this week that took me 20 minutes, yesterday it took 18 minutes (and that was before they gave me all this new blood)…
