I had a better day yesterday, I am now only on Cytarabine which does not seem to have such a strong effect on me (except the rash). The blood they gave me a couple of days ago really seems to have perked me up a bit. The only thing slowing me down now is my swollen feet and they should return to normal after they stop pumping lots of fluid into me.
My temperature and blood pressure appear to have returned to normal and are now stable again, which is good news. One of the consultants popped in yesterday but nothing new, basically - keep taking the tablets…
I don’t think the taste buds are quite as bad as last time - either that or I know what to avoid. Isabel brought in some chicken noodle soup for lunch, which was just about the level my taste buds could handle.
I think it will be about the end of next week when the chemo will have killed off my immune system so we are making the most of it. I am keeping my room door open, it’s great listening in to other peoples conversations - I don’t think people realise that others can hear.
Given I am allowed out of my room, Isabel, my drip stand and I went for a little walk outside and round to the ‘restaurant’ (think works canteen) for a cup of tea. It was good to get fresh air again (past the people smoking) after almost a week inside.
… not been very good this time round, my swollen feet are putting me off the exercise bike - may try a couple of k today and see how it goes…
