Medically no change yesterday, except the rash is starting to go. The consultant doing ward rounds said that it should be in the next couple of days we start to see the effect of the chemo on my blood - the red and white blood cell counts will drop and I will go neutopenic (unable to fight infections - and leave my room).
The consultant was not worried about my swollen foot but decided to send me for an ultra-sound scan. The scan did not find anything (except the foot!).
James was off school yesterday, feeling a little poorly (nothing too serious - back to school today) so Isabel did not come in to see me - better to be safe than sorry. So it was very nice that David and Dee popped in for a chat at lunch time, it was good to catch-up with them. I also had a long telephone call from Lynne and Les in the evening.
The nurses are all very impressed with the set of six medium sized plastic crates that contain all my stuff (good choice Isabel). There are a couple for clothes, a couple for food / sweets and couple for magazines and DVD’s. I keep most things in the boxes because there is no other storage in the room, it seems to work well. One of the staff said it was just like when she goes camping…
… Still only 3k on the exercise bike, need to wait until the feet are not so swollen before I can start to increase the distance…
