Last day of my chemo today, another small milestone…
Yesterday, no ward round so no update from the consultant. My blood pressure and temperature have been behaving themselves for a few days which is always good (the nurses don’t keep waking me up in the middle of the night to check my stats).
Still getting quite a lot of fluid pumped into me which is why my feet are a bit swollen. I think the fluid is to ensure the chemo gets flushed through my system as quickly as possible after it has done its job, to reduce the possibility of it effecting my kidneys.
Isabel’s Dad and James came to visit me after lunch yesterday, so I came down from my ward and waited for them outside by the door. I heard James tell Grandad that I was ‘The Baldy Man’ - now I do hope James was not referring to the television series of the late 1990’s of the same name staring Gregor Fisher (pictured - no not me!!).
We all went for a coffee in the restaurant, James was very interested in the drip stand I had to take everywhere with me - until he got his juice and chocolate bar - then there were far more interesting things to focus on. I had a good chat to Isabel’s Dad while she and James went off and did some jobs. Isabel came back in later in the day on her own.
… Managed my 3k yesterday on the exercise bike…
