This skill will require you to place an esophageal stethoscope and use it to monitor an anesthetized patient. Upon completion for this skill, you will be able to demonstrate placement of an esophageal stethoscope and how to use it to monitor an anesthetized patient.

Be sure to include each step! Some commonly missed steps.
Measuring, you need to do this to know how far to place the catheter into the esophagus. You should measure to the 5th rib or the caudal aspect of the scapula
Use a laryngoscope
Checking for placement
Monitoring of the heart rate and respiration rate. Don't just place the catheter and end the video, include a clip of you actually listening
