Tips for materials required for submission
Description of filing systems for patient records
Discuss how the filing system is organized. Is the clinic paperless or are paper charts used?
Are they filed alphabetically by last name, by client number, etc.?
You should also discuss how lab results or other outside papers are filed into the chart.
Copies of entries you made into the controlled drug log
You need to indicate at least 5 entries that were made by you.
Make sure they are complete logs.
Your log should include all the information included in the example below. Client information may be blacked out if necessary.
In the event that your site will not allow you to write in the official drug log, contact your faculty evaluator for further instruction.
If your site only has an electronic drug log, you will need to contact your faculty evaluator for further instruction.
Description of veterinary practice software and its uses at your site
Do not submit a copy of your Veterinary Office Management project. You may use it as an outline for this skill, but in your description you should be discussing the software used at your site and its functions.
You need to discuss basic functions such as filing and scheduling as well as the other functions of the software that are utilized by your site.
Discuss if your automated blood machines are compatible with the software used at your clinic. How are the results entered into the patient file?
Do not forget to discuss the software used for digital radiographs if your site uses digital technology.
