Profile by Tim Muttukumaru
Thought by most observers to be approaching his prime, William Jobling is a key batsmen for NTMCC. Known affectionately as "Jobbers", the big man from Alderley Edge is not at all known for his debonair front foot strokeplay. However, with a range of dabs and deflections to be proud of, he remains a formidable opponent. If he does have a batting weakness, he remains fairly slow between the wickets. Although recent reports that Inzamam ul-Haq had beaten him at the bleep test proved false, rumours that Dwayne Leverock had defeated him proved entirely true.
Although Jobbers is rarely deployed as a bowler, he has a deceptively long run-up. Combined with his prodigious height, many an opening batsman has given up the ghost well before Jobbers' arrival at the bowler's crease. Notoriously unlucky, many a captain has overlooked the claims of this underrated medium pacer in favour of more conventional opening bowlers.
Otherwise, a lethal combination of big hands and quick wits make him an invaluable close fielder.
Will is also the current Chairman of Not the MCC. Mess with him at your peril.

Jobbers made a superb set of sausage rolls for tea at the 2009 Reunion Match vs Not the MCC Seniors.
