Profile by Hamer Boot
After just one season with NTMCC, Olly has established himself as one of the leading bowlers. Operating off a deceptively short run-up, Olly usually delivers the ball at a fair pace. One of two Chile internationals in the side (the other being Hamer Boot), Olly brings a wealth of cricketing experience to NTMCC. A former Derbyshire U11's player, Olly was a promising leg-spinner until, like so many of our best spinners, he fell into the "I can't grip a full size ball properly" trap (take note Ian Salisbury).
Olly's batting for NTMCC has been dubbed by various commentators as "enthusiastic" and "casual". Reports from South America suggest he may actually be capable of scoring a few in the coming year. Apparently he scored 32 in the Second One Day International in 2003 vs Brazil.
Like any leading fast bowler, Olly's got a great arm and is usually posted on the boundary in case the ball ever gets there (fairly rare against our bowling it must be said).
Other facts (courtesy of Hamer Boot):
Olly has an older brother who is very strong, can hit and bowl the ball very fast.
Olly has a slightly psychotic father who probably also has similar abilities.
Olly has played with both of the above for Parwich Village CC.
