Lab 1.3 Rewind: 95% Invisible

'95% Invisible' is a New Media New Technology project from 2017 by Zois Loumakis. It is an audio-visual experience which plays with the absence of light. A foggy room with white lights and sound sources spread throughout provides the audience with an environment that plays with their sensory perception.

I find this work interesting for the way it uses sensory deprivation to provide the audience with a certain experience. The perception of light, or the absence thereof, has a strong effect on how other the senses perceive stimuli. This work can inspire others in that it shows that by altering or removing a particular aspect, different aspects can come to light and create new insights or developments.
