1.3 Rewind: We, the robots

We, the robots plays with the anthropomorphizing of objects and combines this with a call for collaboration between humans and robots.

Although collaboration here in particular seems to lead to the probability of touch only, it is a more conceptual idea of collaboration that is hinted at here.

It seems to me more an attempt to train robots to respond differently to homogenous input, this in turn then in the perspective of the audience, creates the illusion of personalities. Where one robot seems 'anxious' to meet you, others can shy away or be more reluctant to initiate contact with the audience. This also hints at the border of this apparent anthropomorphizing of objects, where exactly is the limit situated where we see an object as more than just an object but a thing with mental states and emotions. What properties must a thing have to comply herewith?

We, the robots alludes to this concept and plays around with it, creating an interesting and two-sided experience which can be fully initiated or observed at a distance, an element which I can highly appreciate in these sort of things.
