1.4: proCreate a Sketch!

Ever since I was a kid, I always had my sketchbook on me, with tons of unfinished drawings and doodles. One day, I discovered my father's old etch a sketch (the one with the circular knobs) and fell in love with the concept of drawing on a reuse-able surface that can be erased easily. Shortly after, my parents purchased me a new etch a sketch with a stylus, it quickly made it my favorite toy. Many years have passed since I have drawn on an etch a sketch, however the only aspect that changed is the stylus is now an apple pencil and the etch a sketch is an iPad!

Procreate matched with an iPad and pencil is a gold standard illustration software for many artists and illustrators, especially for tattoo artists. Procreate provides endless amounts of options and brushes that would satisfy anyone's creative desires when familiar with the software. The possibilities are endless!

For this assignment, I wanted to pay a tribute to etch a sketch (old media) with a digital sketch I have made in Procreate using my iPad as a new media rendition. This tribute is quite important to me, as I feel it captures my artistic journey and imagery that I've always been drawing with the only one difference: I use procreate instead of an etch a sketch. I have always enjoyed drawing tattoo imagery, so I thought it would be a cool idea to draw something that could simply not be done on an etch a sketch. The idea of this is to portray not only the technological advancement, but also something that I wished was possible at the time when I was using it.
