Helophilus trivittatus

Habitat: Widespread

Size: Wing length 11-13mm

Species account: A similar species to the common H.pendulus, but distinctly larger and has more lemon yellow markings than the former. Most importantly, H.trivittatus has the face entirely yellow, lacking the black stripe of the other Helophilus species. A widespread species, but usually somewhat scarce, especially in the north.
