Birds

Perhaps the most conspicuous and well known wildlife in the UK are the birds. Over 200 species regularly occur, with an impressive 596 having been seen at least once somewhere in the UK. Many species have declined in recent years with habitat loss, persecution and climate change all taking their toll. Most species are distinguishable from their appearance, but calls and song are often useful in clinching the identification. These pages are very much still under construction, I hope to fill in some of the gaps over the course of this year.
