Nomada rufipes
Habitat: Heaths
Size: 11mm
Species account: Recognisable by the solid yellow bar on the scutellum a feature shared only with Andrena fucata. Distinguished from the latter by the near absence of hairs on the thorax and the all yellow and black abdomen. Nomada rufipes is reasonably common on heather clad heaths where its host species from the Andrena denticulata group are found (most commonly Andrena fuscipes in the UK).
