Andrena haemorrhoa

Size: 11mm

Species account: Once known this is one of the most distinctive Andrena species. Fresh females combine a rusty red thorax with white hairs on the face and underside and a diagnostic red tip to the abdomen. Males have mostly golden brown hairs and have mostly bald tergites with orange hair on the tip. The third antennal segment is shorter than the fourth, and the latter is almost twice as long as wide. The hind tibiae and tarsi are orange.
