Anthidium manicatum

A genus containing several similar species in Europe, but only with only one British representive, the striking wool-carder bee Anthidium manicatum. The common name comes from the collection of nest material by females, who shave hairs from the leaves of certain plants, in particular lambs-ear. Both sexes can be quickly recognised by the bright yellow spots on the abdomen.
