Size: Wing length 9-11mm

Species account: A similar species to the common H.pendulus, also having a thich black stripe on the face. Males are easily separated by their abdominal markings, with the area of yellow on tergites 2 and 3 uninterrupted. Females have the hind tibia extensively black and also yellow hairs on the yellow section of the femur.
