This is one of the best recipes, and it is so easy! It came from an oldie but goodie Betty Crocker kids' cookbook. I have made it so many times for our family, and it was also my go-to for team meals. It is easy to multiply and it goes a long way when you have a hungry softball or basketball team to feed!
Brown a pound of ground beef with some chopped onion in a little olive oil in a deep skillet. After the meat is cooked, stir in the following:
32 oz. (4 c.) tomato sauce
3 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. dried parsley
1 tsp. dried basil
Bring to boiling. Then stir in 1/2 lb. UNcooked spaghetti, broken in half. (I usually use a lot more. This is one you just have to eyeball.) Sprinkle the spaghetti in a little at a time, stirring to keep it separated.
Cover tightly and simmer for 20 - 25 minutes until the pasta is done the way you like it.
Serve with grated parmesan cheese.
