This recipe comes from my Mom. When I was growing up we lived next door to our church and every year at Christmas she would have a little get together in our backyard with the Christmas carollers from church. She would always serve her amazing assortment of Christmas cookies (for which she was quite famous!) and hot chocolate. This is the mix she would use because it is mixed with water so no milk is wasted. No one can believe that it is a water mix because it is so rich and creamy!
1 - 16 oz. canister of instant hot chocolate (I don't know if they sell 16 oz. boxes anymore so I usually use a 20oz. one. It works fine.)
1 8 qt. box of instant powdered milk
1 6 oz. jar of powdered coffee creamer (like Coffee Mate)
1 1/2 c. 10-X sugar
Store in an airtight container. Mix 1/3 c. of mix in a mug with hot water. And, of course, don't forget to top with whipped cream -- and lots of it!
This mix isn't cheap, but it makes a lot! It is also a great homemade gift for coworkers or teachers at Christmas time.
