Here is how my Mom tried to write a recipe for goulash. This is one of those 'recipes' that is actually more like 'directions.'
1/4 of a 1 lb. box of macaroni
1/4 cup of chopped onion
1/2 to 1 lb. of hamburger
1 cup canned tomatoes
1/2 cup grated cheese
2 Tbs. flour
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water. In a separate pan, brown hamburger and onion together in a little bit of oil. When browned, drain off the excess grease and add flour and tomatoes, salt & pepper. Cook for about 5 mins. Add the cooked & drained macaroni and the grated cheese. Place in a greased casserole dish and top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 375 deg. for 25 minutes.
I think I actually use more macaroni and tomatoes and definitely more cheese. This is one I just put together based on how it looks as I go along. Good Luck!!
