This recipe came to me through my friend Carol Cherry. It came from her mother-in-law who was the wife of a United Methodist pastor. And we all know how the Methodists LOVE to eat, so you know it's gonna be a good one!
Shred a medium head of cabbage and add some shredded carrots. Make a dressing of 6 Tbs. sugar, 4 Tbs. white vinegar, salt & pepper, some dried minced onion, and some Hellman's mayonnaise. Stir it into the cabbage & carrots and let it sit overnight. At first the dressing might not look like enough, but it will draw more moisture as it sits. You can always make another batch of dressing the next day if it is not to your liking.
