I'm not really sure what to call this dessert. It's sort of like a cobbler, but it is not nearly as much work! This is so simple and so delicious that you will want to make it again and again. And it makes a big pan so it's great to take to potlucks where you need to feed a whole of people at one time!
1 20 oz. can of cherry pie filling
1 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple - do NOT drain
1 pkg. of yellow cake mix
2 sticks of butter, melted
1 c. flaked sweetened coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
Spread pie filling and pineapple on bottom of greased 13x9 pan.
Sprinkle cake mix over top.
Pour melted butter over cake mix.
Sprinkle coconut and pecans over the top.
Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
This is an easy recipe for all my grandkids to learn and help with ;-)
It would be really good served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but it is perfect on its own too!!
