Dear 10th Grade Parents/Guardians,
This is an exciting year! As part of our world literature curriculum, we have an opportunity to take advantage of two plays at one of Philadelphia’s first-class theaters. This year, we will be going to the Wilma Theatre to see Athol Fugard’s Coming Home and Yussef El Guindi’s Language Rooms. According to the New York Times, “[South African playwright] Athol Fugard has created theater of power, glory, and majestic language!” CurtainUp.com hails Arab-American playwright El Guindi as “all the rage right now!” Both of these plays fit perfectly into the 10th grade world literature study, and we are thrilled to be able to take the whole class to experience this rare opportunity.
Here are the details:
Athol Fugards’ Coming Home on Wednesday, November 4th
Yussef El Guindi’s Language Rooms on Wednesday, March 24th (Note: This is the day before the beginning of Spring Break. Please plan accordingly.)
