If you will be in school on Monday, 9/28 read over your informal pieces and select one you would like to revise and polish. For Monday, bring the piece to class. We will begin work on the revision in class. On Monday night, you should continue to work on your revisions.
No class on Tuesday, but on Tuesday night, everyone should work on a revision of her piece. Use/Write the revision strategies "A Writing Conference with Yourself" posted on the website. Make sure the piece has a POINT and AN AUDIENCE. Develop new supporting detail. Delete detail that does not support your point. When you have finished the revision, send the piece to nicenet.org. When you log on to nicenet. org,
•CLICK ON CONFERENCING
•THEN WRITE THE TITLE OF YOUR PIECE IN THE NEW TOPIC BUBBLE
•EVERYONE IN THE CLASS WILL BE ABLE TO READ YOUR REVISION
•EVERYONE IN THE CLASS WILL BE ABLE TO SUGGEST CHANGES TO YOU
For Wednesday everyone should have selected a piece and done a revision according to "A Writing Conference with Yourself." BRING BOTH PIECES TO CLASS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOTH THE ORIGINAL AND THE REVISED PIECE WITH YOU. We will work on other revision strategies in class.
On Wednesday night, everyone should read at least five pieces at nicenet.org and list suggestions for each piece.
•Be respectful in your suggestions
•If a piece already has five responses, then move on to a piece that needs feedback;
In Class on Thursday, we will discuss more revision strategies. You must have your piece in class. This is really important. Please make sure you have a written copy with you.
For Friday, revise the piece once more. The revised piece needs to be turned in to ME and to nicenet.org. We will read the finished pieces in class.
