FEBRUARY 18th
Recent research has provided evidence that Mary Anne did accompany James to Bermuda in the summer of 1825 and that James returned to England between June 1827 and march 1828.
However no evidence has yet been found to show when she died or whether she died in England or Bermuda. All we do know is that James married her niece in Bermuda in March 1828 very soon after his return from England.
There was some doubt about the legality of this marriage, but descendants of James will be glad to learn that all is well. See Page 2102 for details.
