John Hargrove, farm servant, prospector, labourer
The Hargrove family appear to have moved to Victoria on arrival and in 1845 Ellen is born in Gordon, a small town in Victoria, Australia, named after settler George Gordon. The town is located on the Old Melbourne Road in the Shire of Moorabool, 95 kilometres (59 mi) west of the state capital, Melbourne.
The family seem to remain in this area and raise their family.
