Everline was the daughter of Elizabeth Law, born on March 23, 1852, in New South Wales and John Newlyn whom she married about 1875, in Bega, New South Wales. They had six children in 17 years. Elizabeth Law died in 1935 in Bega, New
South Wales, at the age of 83.

An Albert Newlyn born in Welling, England arrived Sydney in 1919, a crew member and able seaman. He maybe the shopkeeper or else he may have been a fish monger of the same name who in 1929 departed for Canada. Another Albert Newlyn, also a sailor settled and established a family in Brisbane.)
Walter Frank Day was the youngest of three brothers, sons of Lawrence Day and Everline Pearl Newlyn. The brothers all served with the 2nd. Australian Infantry forces during WW2 and Lawrence senior disappeared in this era.
Walter Frank Day Military service:- Attested on 28 Oct 1942; Training Cowra, NSW & Qld; AIF service 330 days in Merauke, New Guinea (25 Feb. 1944 to 12 Jan 1945); site of an Allied air base (WWII) and ground fighting between Australian and Japanese patrols in the area. On demobilisation in 1946 he worked in industry associatiated to metal work foundries and positions as a welder and boilermaker.

He served in the military and attested on November 28, 1941, in Sydney, New South Wales, when he was 21 years old. Military Service overseas from 11 Jan. 1942 in Singapore, Malaya; He went missing on 16 Feb.1942 and was a POW to Japanese forces from Feb. 1942 and was moved to Changi; Record: 1359 days overseas and 72 in Australia- Discharged 8 Nov 1945.
