Broadford: near the Eastern extremity of this County Clare.
Wiki: Broadford (Irish: Áth Leathan)[1] is a small village in eastern County Clare, Ireland and a Catholic parish of the same name.
Broadford lies in the Diocese of Killaloe, parish of Kilseily, barony of Tulla, union of Limerick, county Clare, and province of Munster. It is 3.5 miles from Doon Lough (bog), 8 miles (N.) from Limerick, and 94 miles (S. W. by W.) from Dublin.
Broadford, is a small pretty village with surrounding riverside forests, bordering the fertile Glenomra Valley, set on the southern slopes of the Slieve Bernagh mountains and surrounded by Ridges. Nearby is the picturesque Doon Lake, readily accessible from the road and excellent for fishing. The surrounding landscape is well wooded and the woods of Violet Hill to the north of the village deserve particular attention for their mature specimens of beech, oak and other hardwoods.
Bridget Lynch was born after 1811 in Newport, Tipperary, the daughter of Daniel and Hannah Lynch.
Daniel Lynch, her father's occupation is unknown. Newport is about 25 miles from Broadford, County Clare, where children of Pat and Bridget Egan were born. Bridget and six children arrived in Australia in 1859 and the Parochial registers suggest the name Bridget Lynch was common. Bridget' relatives from Newport may be indicated as may Pat Egan's relatives.
Broadford RC parish registers start in 1844 and early records omit which townland the person comes from; furthermore Church of Ireland registers are no longer available.

Ancient Ring Fort - Lough Doon - Donegal - Ireland
Originally the site of Doon Mulvihill, a tower house built on the site of an ancient fort made of stone dating back to 3000 BC. It has walls standing about four and 4.5 metres high in places and 3.6 metres thick at the base. It covers the island almost completely and within the fort are steps terraces and passages. The castle was demolished in the 18th century and the stone used for the erection of Doon House, which also has since been demolished. In 1986 three submerged canoes estimated to be 2,000-2,500 years old were found on the northern side of the lake.

Parochial Register
Wednesday 9/7/1834: 4
On Sunday morning, at his seat, Hurlston, county Clare, William Bentley, Esq. aged 70. This estimable Gentleman was a Magistrate for a period of more than forty years; and in the memorable year of 1798, was Lieutenant of the Kilkishen Cavalry, and rendered efficient services to his county in those capacities. No man was more esteemed among the people, as well as the gentry of this district; where his usefulness as a resident Landlord and independent Magistrate particularly endeared him to his tenantry. His charity was unbounded yet unostentatious, and his acts of benevolence embraced all classes and sects of the community. The site for a Church and Church-Yard on his own demesne was his free gift to the parish of BroRadford. His remains were interred yesterday morning in the family vault at Kilsiley.
