William Patrick born about 1795 the son of William Patrick b. 1773 and Mary A Watkins b. 1775, both originally from Sterlingshire, Scotland.
At Hereford Assizes on 4th. August 1818, William Patrick together with James Webb were convicted of sheep stealing and sentenced to Death, and James Webb was executed. William Patrick however, was commuted to life and transportation and arrived in NSW aboard the ship“Canada” under Captain Alexander Spain departed London on 23rd. April and arrived 1st. September 1819 in Sydney. In the general muster of 1825 he is listed as on a ticket of leave and in Government employ. In November 1831 he again enlisted and was allowed to remain in the district of Parramatta.
A description for William Patrick is recorded in the New South Wales, Australia, Convict Registers of Conditional and Absolute Pardons 1791-1867, and states he was a farmer, 5' 8" height, fair and ruddy complexion with brown hair and hazel eyes.
William Patrick convict arrived from Hereford, Herefordshire, England married Sarah Sunderland (1804-1835) in 1821 at Church of England, Parramatta.
William Patrick died in 1856 at Maitland New South Wales and a person of the same name died on 7 Dec 1835, Parramatta, New South Wales.

In July 2018 Suzanne Griffiths contacted me and is a second cousin twice removed. Suzanne provided a picture of her great grandparents Edward Patrick and Sarah Ann Tabor. Edward was a brother of William Patrick (1795 - 1856) above.
