A committee member provided the following file for the Village of Cooperstown.

"After receiving our email I gave the codes administrator of Otsego co a call ... ( really nice guy) he informed me they simply follow the NYS property maintenance code and the "local Law" is how they defined some specific aspects to manage the code including residential. He told me the NYS code is the basis for all municipal codes whereby any added municipal code added by a community can only be more restrictive than NYS and not diminish the standards set forth by the state ... As we thought the codes of Cooperstown are administered and enforced by the codes office of Otsego County."
