ARTICLE II, Use of Motor-Driven Vehicles
§ 163-6. Title
This Article shall be known and may be cited as the "Local Law Regulating the Operation of Motorized Vehicles on Parklands, including Russell Park, village lands and cemeteries within the Village of Ilion."
§ 163-7. Operation limited to paved roads; snowmobiles excepted
No trail bike, motorcycle, minibike or other motorized vehicle other than snowmobiles shall be operated in or upon parklands, including Russell Park, village lands and cemeteries, other than on paved roads and highways within such lands, except when authorized and directed by a police authority, the Ilion Park Commission or Village Board of Trustees.
§ 163-8. Prohibited areas of operation
No motorized vehicle described in § 163-7 above shall be operated on the road in Russell Park commonly known as the "Horseshoe Road," being the dirt road extending from the upper playground and picnic area, running in a southerly, then easterly, then northerly direction to the ball field located on top of Russell Park hill and running around the south end of the ball field to the paved park road.
§ 163-9. Penalties for offenses
A. Except as otherwise provided for in the Vehicles and Traffic Law, any person committing an offense against any provision of this Article shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or by imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.
B. Every operator of a vehicle described in § 163-7 above shall be liable and responsible for damages to property resulting from the use or operation of any such vehicle in violation of the provisions of this Article.
