ARTICLE III, Termination of Village's Status as Assessing Unit
§ 215-20. Intent.
The intent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ilion is to implement § 1402, Subdivision 3, of the Real Property Tax Law providing for the voluntary termination of the Village of Ilion's status as an assessing unit, as now provided in the Charter of the Village of Ilion, the Village Law and the Real Property Tax Law. It is also the intent of this Article to abolish the positions of Assessor and to terminate any and all responsibility provided by law for the review of the assessments of real property located within the Village of Ilion.
§ 215-21. Cessation of assessing unit.
On or after the effective date of this Article, the Village of Ilion shall cease to be an assessing unit.
§ 215-22. Assessor positions abolished.
The positions of Assessors in the Village of Ilion are hereby abolished.
§ 215-23. Board of Assessment Review abolished.
The Board of Assessment Review in the Village of Ilion is hereby abolished.
§ 215-24. Use of town assessment roll.
On or after the effective date of this Article, taxes in the Village of Ilion will be levied on a copy of the applicable part of the assessment roll of the Town of German Flatts, with the taxable status date of such town controlling for village purposes.
§ 215-25. Filing of Article.
Within five (5) days of the effective date of this Article, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ilion shall file a copy of such Article with the Clerk and Assessor of the Town of German Flatts and with the State Board of Equalization and Assessment.
