Solid Waste& Recycling Reminder
Beginning on January 1, 2015, the New York State Electronic Equipment Recycle and Reuse Act will prohibit all households and generators of electronic waste from disposing of electronic waste such as computers, computer peripherals, televisions and other electronic devices as garbage.
Residents in the Village of Ilion will be permitted to set out electronic wast at the curb twice per month for proper recycling. Electronic waste CANNOT be placed in your curbside recycling container. Electronic waste will be collected on the first and third Friday of each month along with steel, metal items, major appliances and white goods.
These items need to be called in to Spohn's Disposal Service 866-8820 to be put on a pick-up list. Please call before the collection day and state what needs to be picked us so that special arrangements can be made.
Residents may also deliver electronic waste to the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority's Utica and Rome Residential Convenience Stations. Acceptable electronics may be delivered to the Authority's facilities for recycling year-round, free of charge.

Computer peripherals (monitors, facsimile machines, document scanners and printers)
Televisions , TVs
VCRs/DVRs
Video Game Consoles
