Village of Ilion Regular Meeting April 23, 2014

Rural 8 Properties: Treasurer Gagliardi provided some background in the Rural 8 properties. She added that this issue should be discussed at a meeting with the Fire Chief present. This issue came about when it was found that some properties in the Village had no tax value. They are not on any list for the

county. Some properties in this category are available for possible purchase or take-over. This process should be researched to determine how the Village could proceed.

Village of Ilion Board Meeting June 12, 2013

Rural Section 8 Properties: Chief Trevett provided additional information regarding the Rural Section 8 properties. There are 6 properties within the Village that fall under this classification and are exempt, showing no taxes being collected by the Village or County. The county attorney has indicated that the county is not interested in them because they have no or little value. Most of the buildings on the properties are in run down condition. The Chief mentioned that he had asked if the Village could have these properties. The reply was after a certain process that could take 2 years. This includes 4 sites on Lester Ave, one on First Ave and another on W. North Street. The Village has already condemned these properties.

ACTION: Chief Trevett and H & H work together to make recommendations on how to proceed to acquiring and/or doing something to/with these properties to be able to get them back on the tax rolls.
