Chapter 7, Code Enforcement

§ 7-1. Establishment of enforcement officers

The position of Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer is hereby established to enforce the ordinances and laws or applicable provisions thereof as hereinafter set forth.

§ 7-2. Appointment of enforcement officers

The Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Service Law.

§ 7-3. Powers and duties of enforcement officers

A. The Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer shall be the enforcement officers of the village of the following ordinances, local laws and laws or applicable provisions thereof:

1) Chapter 143, Housing Standards, of this Code.

2) Chapter 175, Plumbers, Licensing of, of this Code.

3) Chapter 113, Fire Prevention and Building Construction, of this Code.

4) Chapter 250, Zoning, of this Code.

5) Chapter 185, Signs, of this Code.

6) Article 17, Public Safety, of the Labor Law of the State of New York.

7) The Multiple Residence Law of the State of New York.

B. The Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer shall perform such other and additional related duties as the Board of Trustees may authorize and direct.
