Chapter 93, Encroachment

§ 93-1. Building encroachments prohibited
No person shall erect or maintain upon or across any street line in the village any porch, stoop, cellar door, platform or other building projection.
§ 93-2. Awnings
No person shall erect or maintain any awning in any street in the village, unless the same shall be of at least a seven-foot elevation from the sidewalk.
§ 93-3. Placement of building and other materials on streets
No person shall place or cause to be placed any stone, brick, timber, lumber, planks, boards or other building material or any other material whatsoever in or upon any street or public place without the written permission of the Village Engineer or other official designated by the Board of Trustees, who shall establish such conditions as he may deem necessary to hold the village harmless and to protect the public, including but not limited to the furnishing of bonds, safeguards and warnings and the period of time to store the materials.
§ 93-4. Display of merchandise
No person shall place or set out or cause to be placed or set out any goods, wares or merchandise for sale in front of any store, shop or other building into or onto the sidewalk or street except on special occasions and when authorized by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ilion.
§ 93-5. Placement of shade trees
No person shall plant, place or set out or cause to be planted, placed or set out any ornamental or shade tree at a distance of less than one and one-half (1 1/2) feet from the outer line of the sidewalk of any street.
§ 93-6. Penalties for offenses
Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable for each offense by a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.) or by imprisonment for not more than fifteen (15) days, or both.
