Margaret Agnes Colville was born in Craigflower, Scotland to Andrew Wedderburn Colville of Ochiltree and Crombie, Fife, Scotland. She was sister to Sir James William Colville of Craigflower. She married Kegan Paul, of the publishing house, C. Kegan Paul & Co whom she married later in life (possibly about 1879).
The exact date of her birth is unknown, but approximated by the known birthdate of her brother (1810). Her exact date of death is also unknown, but she was included in A Bibliography of Works Relating to Dunfermline and the West of Fife, published in 1901, and was not mentioned as being deceased.
