Lady Charlotte Maria Pepys was born 2 May 1822 to Lord Charles Christopher Pepys, Baron Cottenham, and Lady Caroline Wingfield. She was most likely born at Cottenham, Cambridge, England. Charlotte was the eldest of sixteen children.
She wrote a variety of works, from travelogue and reference works about Russia, to a book of prayers and meditations, and one novel. She also served as an editor of sorts for The Diary and Hours of the Lady Adolie, a Faithful Child.
Lady Charlotte died in 1889.
