Bio: Christiana Jane Douglas was born in Kelso, Scotland about 1830 (the actual date is unknown) to Naval Captain Pringle Homer Douglas. She began to write while still quite young, but hid her writing from all but her sister. Her first novel, Anne Dysart, was published in 1850, and eleven more followed, all published anonymously. She married Canon Davies, vicar of Tewkesbury, later in life. She died in 1887.
