People Too Content in Their Own Comfortable Situations
I’ve noticed that once people get too comfortable with their own situation within the system of Capitalism they tend to fight to stay in that comfortable position, ignoring and/or blocking out the millions of people that are still suffering and dying directly because of the Capitalist system.
I constantly hear people say “you gotta just worry about yourself, that’s all you can do, don’t worry about everyone else, just go out and get for yourself” and many other variations. This is selfish thinking and will do nothing to solve the problems in the world, which makes that way of thinking “The #1 Problem” of the world.
As long as we have a working-class (just large enough to win in elections) that are “just comfortable enough” in their middle-to-upper working-class situation (even though they too are unhappy deep down because of their never-ending debt/wage slavery, but their comfortable situation, a home, a full fridge, a car, college education for their children, enough savings to go on trips/vacations to wash away and further suppress their deep unconscious unhappiness as the perks of comfort push them into even deeper apathy and indifference for others “as long as I’m comfortable I’m fine with the way the world is, and I’ll fight to keep it this way as long as I have what I need”) to remain complacent in a world that’s suffering all around them, and they see just enough suffering on the news to drive the fear-based motivations and mental/emotional manipulations to continue accepting their own debt/wage slave situation but instead think of themselves as a “responsible upstanding citizen” and lucky (or helped by God) to be in their current comfortable position due to their own upstanding hard work, not ever considering or realizing or caring that millions of people work much harder than them and still live in poverty, pain, suffering and dying because the Capitalist system doesn’t care about people, it only cares about profits, not the well-being of human life or the planet.
Capitalism keeps just enough people “comfortable” in their situations to keep the corrupt system going, and by having an army of uninformed and indifferent voters to fight for their masters of capitalism who care nothing about them, all the capitalists care about is themselves and higher profits for themselves.
We as Human Beings are supposed to at the very least “care” if others are suffering and want for them not to be suffering. Within capitalism, one individual (or many individuals) can’t help everyone who is suffering, it requires a change to the socioeconomic system itself to help everyone simultaneously. But in order to create such a virtuous system, people (especially the majority voters who are too comfortable in their situations to vote for a system change because of their fear of losing their own comfortable situation, they don’t want to rock the boat, afraid if they speak up they may lose their job and comfortable lifestyle, so they adopt the mindset that “I worked my ass off to pull myself up by my own bootstraps, so there’s no reason why others can’t do the same thing as me” which keeps them in a state of denial or ignorance. That way of thinking is an indoctrination of the Capitalist system to control people, psychologically and emotionally, to keep the indoctrinated people fighting against the ones who fight for social rights and every individual’s well-being.
We live in a world of abundance and have the technological capability and capacity to create more abundance with much greater efficiency. But with capitalist kings in control of all that abundance and capability, humanity is held down, in a stranglehold, people are held back from being able to reach their full potential, due to economic restraints that need not exist.
So, as long as we have a majority of middle-class voters who are too comfortable and complacent in their situation to ever awaken empathy, compassion, Love within their hearts to awaken to higher consciousness and conscientiousness to stand up and fight for the Collective Well-Being of Humanity, we will have a much more difficult time changing the corrupt system that not only “lets” people suffer and die but “causes” people’s suffering and death.
We need a socioeconomic system with Love built into its foundation. A foundation that can’t be destroyed or changed by those who are ignorant and/or have hate in their hearts. A system with Love at its core doesn’t require “you” or “anyone else” to Love others but it will keep “you and others” (if you are one of those who are full of ignorance, hate and/or indifference, otherwise the “you” is not referring to you) from being able to stop or keep others from having life-sustaining resources, a comfortable living, and boundless opportunity to pursue and reach their/our full potential both in happiness and vocation.
In other words, within a socioeconomic system with Love built into its core/foundation “you” can’t (don’t have the power to) keep others from having food, home, utilities, healthcare, education, transportation, and everything else that the socioeconomic system based in Love guarantees for ALL People, nor does anyone have the power to keep “you” from all those basic needs and rights. We need to end Capitalism and create Life’s Optimal Virtuous Economic System, a virtuous system with Love built into its foundation, we need to create a Human Union, Life’s Optimal Virtuous Economic Union, A collective union of Love, The LOVE Union.
