Mistakes & Forgiveness

Hello, my name is John and I'd like to start out by saying that I'm not perfect and I'm not all-knowing. I've made mistakes in my life that haunt me and will continue to haunt me, and eventually cause you/many to try to discredit me because of my mistakes.  I’m ashamed of my mistakes. All I can currently say about my mistakes (without intruding on other’s privacy) is that I'm very sorry for the mistakes I’ve made. But that doesn't go back in time to cause me not to make the mistake, it's already done, I admit it,  the mistakes happened, I can't change that, all I can do is learn from my mistakes and be a better person and hope for forgiveness for my mistakes. My guess is that you are not without mistakes either, we've all made mistakes, we should learn from our mistakes and become better people. Someone's mistakes should not discredit there intelligence, discoveries, beliefs, ideas, and contributions to society. Nor should it discredit someone's goodness and Love. A good person can make mistakes and still be a good person. But in some cases a person that continues to make those same mistakes, bad judgments, bad decisions and choices can make them a bad person, but that still doesn't mean that they can't change either. We need to create a social and economic environment that enables/allows for people to change and heal much easier.
