Virtual learning is difficult for a lot of people. Some think it's ok and some – well – most think it's absolutely terrible, stressful, and boring. Let's start off going over those good things though, shall we?
JOSIE : “We can take as many breaks as we want, we can eat food a lot, and we can pretty much always stay in our pajamas.”
LYRIC: “I like that you can do things at your own pace most of the time, you don't really have a time limit.”
SOFIA: “I like how put together and organized it is, and that you can just do school in front of you and not have you travel from class to class.”
MRS.GRIFFIN: “What I like about virtual learning is that I still get to build relationships with my students, even if it is through a screen. My class loves doing breakout rooms, especially during writing time. They get to talk with friends and work on their writing at the same time. It is really cool to see Kindergarteners being responsible enough to be a breakout room on their own. I also love that I still get greeted with smiling faces during crew time like I would if we were at school doing crew.”
MR.PANDYA: “What I like is just knowing that we aren't endangering anyone's health. And that there are some interesting new challenges to figure out when we try to teach this way!”
OTTO: “I like being able to do really wherever I want during school like eat a lot.”
Then, I asked a few people about the things they didn't like about virtual learning. They had a lot to say.
JOSIE: “Your computer glitches and if your computer isn't working you miss a lot, everything is confusing like websites and stuff and nothing makes sense!”
LYRIC: “I don't like that I have to get dressed and ready just for a chair and computer 2 feet away from me. Also, I don't like that I can't interact properly with people.”
SOFIA: “There are many tech problems, that make and cause it to be hard to do school.”
MS GRIFFIN: “Something that I do not like about virtual learning is that, when we are singing songs, the students have to stay muted so I can not hear their beautiful voices. The zoom lags so not everyone is on the same word when singing. We tried to sing Happy Birthday to a student today all being unmuted and it was a mess.”
MR.PANDYA: “I know that what I don't like is not getting to interact face to face with people and hand out in person like we would in the classroom. There are lots of small interactions that I really miss.”
OTTO: “I don't like that I can't see my friends and my computer gets really glitchy when I have so many school assignments up.”
Well, that would be it. I hope you enjoyed reading about other people's opinions and this sparks your own opinion, what do you think about online school?
