Houston, Nolan and I (Teo) make up the Bermuda Triangle (the name of our friend group). I've known Houston for what...three years now and he's always had this character named Jack. The reason I'm interviewing him about Jack is because he taught me his drawing style and I drew something for the newspaper with it last year, so he wants to clarify to everyone that it's HIS drawing style.
As for why Nolan was in the interview, well we were on a video call, and I thought it would be mean to ask him to leave, so I let him stay.
Houston: Aaawwhhhh, I'm going to go grab pizza.
A few minutes later...
Me: How did you come up with the idea of your character Jack?
Houston: Well in 3rd grade I really liked drawing, and I thought it would be cool to make a character because no one else had one. And I landed on the name Jack because I was originally going to be named Jack.
Nolan: Let's go! (pretends to have seizure)
Houston: (weird water bottle noises)
Me: Did you ever write a series or story with Jack?
Houston: Yes I did.
Nolan: Say tell me about that.
Me: I was going to.
Houston: Share the doc with me.
Me: load thingie
Houston: Leave that in.
Nolan: *slaps himself in the thigh*
Me: Tell me about the story with Jack?
Houston: I started when my character jack was 10.
Nolan: How old is he now?
Houston: Like 80. Pizza, pizza, pizza.
Me: Can you name one of the events in your story?
Houston: One of the events was when…(takes time to think)... Jack sacrificed himself for humanity.
Me: So the series is over, right?
Houston: Wrong, still producing books to this day.
Me: I'm pretty sure you don’t have the materials to produce books.
Houston: I have a whole stock, I'll write on any piece of paper and tape it together. So far I have 6, 7 books.
Nolan: Houston, do you like dabs?
Houston: I love dabs. *dabs 15 times*
Me: How does the series continue?
Houston: The story continues with Jake, who is Jack's kid.
Me: Special features about Jake or Jack?
Houston: Jack has a… wait, you could just insert a picture, I'm going to do his middle stage of years, like when he was 42. When you're done I'll show every stage of him.
Me: Okay.
Houston: What's your next question, Mr. Bill?
Me: My name's not Bill...you know that right?
Houston: Oh sorry I thought your name was Gary. (referencing a past creation)
Me: *facepalms* Can you give some backstory about these characters?
Houston: Hhhm, backstory... Jack's dad owned an arcade, and he defended it his whole life, because there's a war going on in my story.
Nolan: Nice!
Houston/ Nolan: *sings song i don't know that well* (apparently it's called Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee)
Me: What happened to the arcade when Jack sacrifices himself?
Houston: The world reboots like none of the crimes ever happened, and the arcade thrives to be an attraction.
Quinn: *arrives* I'll try not to distract you. What are those noises?
Me: That's Houston singing.
Quinn: *horrified* Well now I know.
My sister: (she walked out of the front door): Hey, masks. (I wasn't wearing one, and I know this makes me a hypocrite but WEAR MASKS! That goes for me too.)
Me: Ana.
Ana: Teo *she says exasperatedly*
Me: That's all for now, we can pick up later.
