Hi my name is Savannah and I am a sixth grade student at Lake Bluff Elementary school in Mac 3 birch. The one thing that you need to know about me is that I'm short. I do have some struggles reaching things so when I heard we were redoing the school my teacher (Mr Perterka) gave me this idea of writing a paragraph or two about the coat hooks for Mac 3 Birch. The only problem with them is that they are too high, this being said leads me into my next paragraph.
When I say they are too high I mean it. My problem is that I can't reach the top of the shelf above the coathooks so whenever I put something on the top of the shelf I have to have someone else get my stuff and I'm sure whoever I ask does not want to. So some of the stuff that I tried was to use a stool but the stool was too short and I couldn't stack them, the other thing was to jump and grab the shelf but I eventually I would break the self over time so that didn't work.
The next thing is that I'm sure of it that their are students younger than me that also are short and have some of the same struggles. So when those younger students go to Mac 3 Birch they also won't be able to reach the shelfs. I am saying this because I care about the younger students, and I don’t want them to have to also try and do what I did.
With all of that I think that the coat hooks should be lower because then the younger students after me won't have the same problem. Also my teachers were telling me that they can't see at the top of the shelfs ethier, so if you lower them then maybe more students will remember to grab their stuff after school. After that happens then less of the students will have to go to the lost and found to look for their stuff. Also then students will be happier because they will then have all of their stuff they were looking for days, weeks and sometimes even months.
With all of this said, I hope that you get my point because I think lowering the coat hooks will help some students and teachers in the future. The only thing I have left to say is that I really do wish that you lower the selfs for teachers and students futures. Thank you so much for listening to my writing piece, goodbye!
